Who is the Sharks View

Hi, I am Miriam and welcome!
Having lived and worked over the past 15 years in Africa, Asia and Australia, I’d like to introduce my favourite destinations and unique experiences to you as well as help out with travel tips and insights. Hopefully I can inspire you to go and explore yourself!

I was born and raised in Germany, but I guess I always had itchy feet wanting to explore the world. What better field to work in than tourism?! Over the past 16 years I somehow flitted around the world, working in tourism, promoting exotic travel and unique experiences to customers and travel agents. It’s been an amazing time and I loved it. But now here we are, at the tail end of 2020 with travel being mostly put on hold and tourism in tatters. Travel will come back and when it does my dream is to design travel itineraries that lets you see the world through my eyes. Or rather The Shark’s View…

…but hold on, wait! What has a shark has to do with anything?
Apologies to all shark lovers thinking they will find the latest on shark conservation here. This is not the case, sorry. It was however a little blue plastic shark from a souvenir shop in Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa who inspired me to document my travels for both work and leisure in pictures. The shark starred in every picture in front of every monument we got to visit together. Amongst Facebook friends he gained quite a bit of notoriety and had at some stage quite the fan base. We’ve travelled the world together for a good eight years until one day, on a flight from Doha to Bangkok, our ways parted. I got off the plane, he stayed on. No goodbyes, nothing! He disappeared just like that. It was sad times for a while, but the life goes on and after an appropriate mourning period, I was gifted a new shark. I am still not leaving the house without the shark in my handbag, always ready to jump into the next adventure. If you like, join us to see the world through the shark’s eyes!
